Belçika Eupen ESC Gönüllü Hizmeti 01/08/2024 – 31/12/2025 EVS ESC European Solidarity Corps projesinde Avrupa Dayanışma Programı faaliyetinde bulunacak katılımcılar aranmaktadır!
The asylum-seekers Center “Belle-Vue” is managed by the Belgian Red Cross. It is located in Eupen, in the German speaking community of Belgium. The Belle-Vue Institut accommodates 105 inhabitants (Families, non-accompanied minors, women, men) of different cultures, nationalities and religions, asking for asylum. The Red Cross tasks consist in the administration of the house as well as welcoming and supporting the refugees during their asylum procedure. The volunteer will take care of the basic work (serving meals, distribution of bed sheets and sanitary articles, working on the reception desk, medical transports…). The volunteer will also participate in the organization of the different activities offered in our center, such as sport, culture, art and music activities as well as cooking, language lessons (French or German) or manual work, according to his/her ability and interests. Moreover the volunteer can use all his/her creativity to develop and realize new projects.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Food: The volunteer will receive a food allowance monthly. There is a kitchenette in the volunteer’s house where he/she can prepare the food. The volunteer can eat in the Center’s canteen during the working day. Accommodation: A studio in the center of Eupen will be rented by the hosting organization (it consists in one sleeping room with kitchenette and a private bathroom, in the owner’s house), 15 minutes by walking from the Asylum seekers Center. Transport arrangements: the volunteer will have a bicycle and a rail pass for travelling in Belgium by train.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
The volunteer will participate to an on-arrival meeting and to a mid-term meeting organized by the national agency. The volunteer will participate to a two-days team seminar. Red-Cross trainings are offered as well. Language lessons (French or German). Team meetings take place weekly. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss difficulties and to promote the collaboration within the team. The volunteer will have a mentor who can help him/her for any issues. PARTICIPANT PROFILE
The volunteers should be open-minded, ready to get in touch with different cultures and beliefs. They have to assist people without any kind of discrimination. The volunteers should have a particular interest in the problems of asylum and migration. They respect the 7 fundamental principles of the Red Cross. As the volunteers have the opportunity to develop and realize a project they have to be active, enthusiastic and motivated. The volunteers will work with a large multicultural team, so they should be open for teamwork and speak french and english fluently- german would be an asset!
